She was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Plano, Idaho, the daughter of Richard Job and Mary Ann Davies Hemsley. She married Paul Richard Wynn on Sept. 20, 1922, in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1966. She received her education in Plano and at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. She lived in Preston where she and Paul operated and owned Wynn Hardware and Sporting Goods Store, later moving to Ashton, Idaho where they ranched and built Wynn Furniture. They later moved to Ontario, Ore., and Nyssa, Ore., where they farmed. She has lived in Caldwell, Idaho since 1973. Her life was a fine example to family and friends. She has always been an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions of leadership. In 1976, Ellen served an 18-month mission in the Tallahassee, Fla., Mission. She is survived by eight children, June (Leon) Winward, Billings, Mont., Irene Godfrey, Preston, Ross (Thayle) Wynn, Ashton, Idaho, Val (Virginia) Wynn, Escondido, Calif., Robert (Carol) Wynn, Newport Beach, Calif., Anne (Bud) Gooch, Ashton, Mary Ellen (Dale) Peterson, Caldwell, Jeannine (Jim) Derricott, Idaho Falls; 56 grandchildren; 171 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She is the last surviving child of the Hemsley family. She was preceded in death by her husband, by a son, David, and by a son-in-law, Glenn Godfrey. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in the Preston 3/7/10th Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd West, Preston. Friends may call Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home, Preston.
