She was born April 29, 1910, in Price, Utah, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Mary Alice Welch Nickerson. She married William Tanner on January 17, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She loved singing, knitting, sewing, traveling and reading. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and she enjoyed many callings in the Relief Society and Primary. She loved her family very much. She is survived by her husband, William, of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; by two daughters and two sons, Nancy Pratt, Thousand Oaks, California, Thomas Tanner, Montgomery, Alabama, John Tanner, Pocatello, Idaho, Rosemary Mitchell, Overland Park, Kansas; by 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maralyn Compton and by a son, Richard C. Tanner. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, April 25, 2002, in the Whitney, Idaho Second Ward Chapel, with Bishop Greg Griffeth conducting. Friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Whitney Cemetery. Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home, Preston, Idaho.
