She was born November 7, 1913 in Preston, Idaho to George Harrison and Olive Hansen Maughan. After receiving her teaching degree at Cornell University, she traveled to Spanish Fork, Utah to teach. There she met Harold M. Creer. On June 29, 1938 they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had five children together and raised them with love and spice. A lover of literature and teaching, Laura was a teacher of English and French at Spanish Fork High School for many years. A lover of gardening, she was very active in the landscaping of Spanish Fork City Park. She was devoted and faithful to the Lord all her life. She is survived by her children Mary (David) Hansen, John (MaryAnn) Creer, Stephen (Marlene) Creer, Nancy (Robert) Potter, and Joanna (Michael, dec.) Shulsky; as well as her 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold. A viewing will be held on Saturday April 20, 2002 at the Spanish Fork 1st Ward LDS Chapel at 310 E. Center Street at 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held following the viewing at 12:30 p.m. Burial at Spanish Fork City Cemetery. This story appeared in The Daily Herald on page A7.
