She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Franklin, Idaho, the daughter of William Richard and Irene Gamble Long. She married Odis Louis Rowell Oct. 6, 1938, in Layton, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Mr. Rowell died March 5, 1989. She lived in Vallejo, Calif., for many years and moved to Preston, Idaho, in 1971. She enjoyed hard work and keeping a nice home. She was active in the relief society. Maxine is survived by a son, Douglas Louis Rowell, Middleton, Calif.; a daughter, Shawanlee Rowell, Vallejo, Calif.; one daughter-in-law, Ann Rowell, Lompoc, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, LaMar M. (Ardella Long), Richard Dean (Marlene) Long, Pocatello, Idaho, George Alton (Grace) Long, Ogden, Utah, sister LaRene Anderson, Pocatello, Idaho, step brother William C. (Behula) Long, California. She is preceded in death by two sons, Dean Rowell and F.D. Rowell, and a granddaughter, Dawn. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Preston Eighth Ward Chapel, 213 S. Second E. with Bishop Jon Hyde conducting. Friends may call at Webb Funeral Home Tuesday April 9, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the ward chapel Wednesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
