Mary was born March 17, 1932, to Elmer Leishman and Margaret Smith Bailey Kerr in Fairview, Franklin County, Idaho. She attended elementary school in Fairview and Preston High School. She attended the University of Idaho at Moscow, Idaho, and graduated from Stevens Henager School of Business where she received her degree in stenography. She began working in the law offices of Richard & Bird in Salt Lake City. She married Lionel Kay Danielson on March 16, 1953, in the Logan LDS Temple. They found employment with Hewlett Packard Company in Palo Alto, Calif. in 1959. They later transferred to Loveland, Colorado where they lived until 2000. They relocated to Riverdale, Utah. Mary loved to write stories and poems. We called her the "ditty" lady. She wrote road shows and skits and had some of her stories published in the Chicken Soup books. She loved to sing and liked good music. Even though her arthritis had her incapacitated she served in many callings in the church. She was Relief Society president twice, Primary counselor and secretary, teacher in Primary, Young Women's and in Relief Society for a long time and a Sunday School teacher. We love her very much and will miss her. She is survived by five daughters, KayeLynn (Ken) Johnson of Roy, Utah, Laura Danielson of Fort Collins, Colo., Barbara (Todd) Macoubrie of Fort Collins, Elaine (Daren) Forrest of Corvallis, Ore., and Amy (Ted) Spidle of Gibsonville, N.C.; and 18 grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers and two sisters, Bill (Lucille) Kerr of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Margaret Lunsford of Preston, Idaho, Tom (Marilyn) Kerr of Logan, Utah, Larry (Utahna) Kerr of Gresham, Ore., Elva (Sherwin) Atkinson of Dayton, Idaho, and Allen (Pauline) Kerr of Oregon City, Ore. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Lisa; three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at the Roy 23rd Ward building, 5930 S. 2200 West. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 West and from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Roy City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund (PEF). Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com.
