She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Preston, Idaho, the daughter of Ernest Shaffer and Ida Barthlome Porter. She married David Wright Sutton on June 22, 1938, in Preston, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah Temple on Oct. 22, 1938. He passed away on Jan. 19, 1993. She married Elbert Thompson on Sept. 18, 1998, in the Salt Lake Temple. He also preceded her in death. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served in various ward and stake callings. She was a temple officiator with her husband, Dave, for 17 years. She is survived by a daughter and three sons, Glenda (Ken, deceased) Sessions of Preston, D. Porter (MaryLou) Sutton of Robin, Idaho, Ernest P. (Charlyne) Sutton of Pocatello, Idaho, Robert P. (Kathryn) Sutton of Gilbert, Arizona; 19 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Hazel (Jim, deceased) Bedingfield of Salt Lake City, Utah. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, grandchildren, Shelly and Karl, and by four brothers, Cliff, Ick, John, and Earl. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Preston Third Ward Chapel, 155 N. Second W., Preston, with Bishop David Noyes conducting. Friends may call Thursday, Nov. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., also at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
