Her sons, William G. and Joseph G., and their wives, Kathleen and Ann, were with her at the time of her death. Marjorie was born in Preston, Idaho, April 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Dr. Joseph Arch and Grace Wolley Geddes. She married Bill on July 25, 1937, and moved to the Stanley Basin where Bill was employed with the USDA, Forest Service. Her experience in Stanley had a long lasting impact on her and she later became involved in the Idaho Conservation League as an activist. Her great pride was her work on the Frank Church Wilderness area where she was invited to the White House for the signing. She will be remembered for her efforts to save the salmon runs in Idaho and her dedication to natural resources. Those who love Idahos wildlife and primitive areas will remember Marjorie. Marjorie was a member of Order of Beauceant and Iras Temple #40, Daughters of the Nile. She was also active in Idaho Conservation League and Rivers United. She is survived by her husband, William Scott Hayes of Boise; their two sons, William G. Hayes (Kathleen) of Rupert and Joseph G. Hayes (Ann) of Idaho Falls; four granddaughters; three grandsons; one grand-stepson; two grand-stepdaughters; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ezra Geddes (Cleone) of Santa Monica, Calif., and one sister, Grace Marsden (Bill) of Centerville, Utah. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph; a sister, Gayle; and a grandson, Jason. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church on Cole Road in Boise. Graveside services will follow at 1 p.m. on Monday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Summers Funeral Homes, Boise Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Marjories name to St. Stephens Memorial Fund c/o St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 2206 N. Cole Road, Boise, ID 83704.
