She was born May 28, 1917, in Logan, the fourth child to Serge Marcelle and Ann Hawkins Bodrero. She had four sisters and two brothers. They were all born in the same corner home that their father was born in. She was raised in Logan and graduated from Logan High School and Seminary in 1936. She married Sheldon Gayle Beckstead on June 20, 1938, in Ogden. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on Dec. 13, 1939. They were faithful companions for 63 years until Sheldon passed away last year. They lived in Whitney for 26 years where their three children were born and raised. In 1964, they moved to Rupert where they resided until October of 1998 when they moved to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. She enjoyed spending summers in Alpine, Wyo., and winters in Lake Havasu, Ariz. She held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her three children, Sharon Anne Nelson of Midvale, Gayle (Melvin) Mosley of Cheyenne, Wyo., Brent (Diane Lish) Beckstead of Lava Hot Springs; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; by two sisters, Wanda Chestang of Las Vegas, Nev., Betty Richardson of Hyrum and by a sister-in-law, Thelma Beckstead Bodrero of Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2002, at noon in the Whitney First Ward Chapel, Whitney, Idaho. Friends may call Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lava Hot Springs LDS Church and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church in Whitney. Burial will be in the Whitney Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home, Preston.
