He was the eldest child of Ernest and Ida Barthlome Porter. Clif passed away May 31, 2002. On Aug 22, 1941 he married his best friend, Ruth Hansen. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Clif was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 34th Infantry Division in North Africa and Italy. He was an accountant with Utah Power & Light, and later operated Porter Distributing Company in Pocatello, ID with his father and brothers. He operated a hotel and gift shop in Valdez, AK in the mid-1960's. At age 80 he grew tired of retirement and went to work as a "bag boy" at Dan's Foods. Clif is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and two brothers, Theron (Ick), Earl Porter. He is survived by his family, Patricia and Morley Farquar, Trudy Duncan, Craig and Liz Porter, Tracy and Richard Allen, Robyn Riley; grandchildren, Rachelle, Christopher and Dana; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Brennan, Anna; brother, Nahum (John) Porter; and sisters, Hazel Bedingfield, Ruth Thompson. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Veterans' Hospital, especially the dialysis team. A family graveside service will be Wed. June 5, Murray City Cemetery.
