Surrounded by her loving daughters, on June 15, 2002, Gwen Farnes Taylor departed this life to be reunited with beloved husband and son. She was born in Treasureton, Idaho, on July 8, 1920, to Jesse Henry and Ethel Winger Farnes. She married Howard Merlin Taylor on June 17, 1936. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They were blessed with five children, a son and four daughters. Their son Gary is deceased. Joycelyn (Bud, deceased). Judy (Jerry) Woodland, Loveland, CO. Kathleen (Gary) Salerno, Riverdale, UT. Susan (Jim) Fonnesbeck, Las Vegas, NV. The passion of her life was her family including 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Gwen spent most of her life living in Lewiston, Utah. Her compassion and service has touched many lives. Much of her life was spent in service to the LDS Church. She especially enjoyed serving in the mutual for 24 years. Gwen also had a great love for children and the nursery was also a favorite calling. Her gifts and talents were many. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, designing and sewing, traveling,reading, and the arts of music and dance. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2002 at 11 a.m., Lewiston 3rd Ward LDS Church, 16 S. Main, Lewiston, Utah, with Bishop Mark Bergeson conducting. Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho and at the Lewiston 3rd Ward Church on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to Hospice and to the many friends and staff at the Country Pines Retirement Community for their dedicated love and support.
