She was born June 28, 1925, in Lennox, California, the daughter of Edwin Emanuel and Norma Katherine Duncan Gren. She married Roland A. Pettitt on June 4, 1944, in Riverside, California. Their marriage was later sealed in the Los Angeles, California, Temple. She lived, until recently, in Riverside, California (Arlington area), and Moreno Valley. She held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She was a teacher and a poet. She was also an artist and enjoyed working with porcelain. She is survived by her husband, Roland, of Mink Creek; by a son Dale (Suzi) Pettitt, Long Beach, California; by a daughter, Debby (Reed) Swann, Mink Creek; six grandchildren, Amee, Alex, Andy, Penny, Adam, and Charley, by nine great grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Dannielle, Laurynn, Kyle, Bryson, Avery, Baylie, and Mikenzie; by two brothers and three sisters, John (Cheryl) Gren; Leroy (Kathy) Gren, Tularosa, New Mexico; Lucille (Jesse) Johnson, Provo, Utah; Dorothy (Michael) Tipton, Kearney, Arizona; and Norma (Bruce) Atkinson, Tucson, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Carl Gren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Mink Creek LDS Church with Bishop Jim Harrison conducting. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
