Roy was born June 7, 1923 to Perry Emil Pearson and Hannah H. Nelson Pearson in Mink Creek, Franklin Coun-ty, ID. He married Dorothy Helen Margaret Cox June 26, 1965 in Riverside, CA. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Roy served in the U.S. Ma-rine Corps during World War II and participated in four campaigns in the South Pacific. He was an American patriot. He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served a mission to the Southern States from 1946-48. He loved to study history, including LDS church history. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved nature and gardening. He was the world's greatest canasta player. Roy is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Vickey (Ben) Griego, Riverside, CA, Sherrie Brunmier, Riverside, CA, Karen (Kevin) Barker, Roy, Ray W. Pearson, Sandy, Bruce W. (Vanisha) Griggs, Sandy, Cindy D. Pearson, Sandy, Jennifer L. (Scott) Dilley, West Jordan; son-in-law, Amir Keyvan Keyvani, Holliday; brothers and sisters, Carmen (Beth) Pearson, Burley, ID, Thora Montgomery, Mesa, AZ, Helen Pearson, Riverdale, Thelma (Ray) Rus-sell, Roy, Dean (Rebecca) Pearson, Cedar City, Colleen (Howard) Hawkes, Kaysville; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; in-fant twin brother, Ray; brothers, Douglas, Cecil; daughter, Kathy Helen Loriene Griggs Keyvani; and an adopted daughter, Suzanne Ball. Services will be Wed. June 5, 2002, 12 noon, Mt. Olympus 9th Ward chapel, 4625 S. Lanark Rd. (3315 East), where friends and family may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
