He was born Nov. 21, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Harry and Henrietta Ruby Belnap McNeely of Bingham Canyon, Utah. After high school, Tom enlisted in the Air Force, serving four years, one year in Vietnam. After his release from the Air Force in 1968, Tom attended Idaho State University, where he got additional training in airplane mechanics and taking classes in law. He married Twila Dora Stegelmeier of Ashton, Idaho, on Jan 28,1968. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had five sons. In 1972, Tom moved to Ogden, Utah, where he worked at Hill Air Force Base. In 1976, the family moved to Albuquerque, N.M., and later to Lancaster, Calif., where Tom worked at Edwards Air Force Base. They lived there until 1979, when he transferred to the AFPRO at Thiokol in Brigham City. He worked as a quality assurance inspector until he retired on June 3, 2000. After the passing of his wife, Twila, in 1997, Tom married Charlyne Malina Kuulei Kaulukukui of Honolulu, Hawaii, on April 15, 2000, in the Idaho Falls Temple. A stepdaughter was added to the family of boys. He then moved to Mackay, Idaho, where he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding many church callings, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League working on the genealogy of his Malamute dogs, who he loved dearly. Tom also loved fixing his cars, fishing, reading science fiction books, learning things on the computer, and helping friends and neighbors. He was a loving husband, father, son, grandpa, uncle, friend, and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Charlyne, four sons, and a stepdaughter, Jonathan (Angelica), Rowland Heights, Calif., Jeremy, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Josh, Logan, Utah, Momi, Logan, Utah, Jake, of Rowland Heights, Calif.; five grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Twila Dora Stegelmeier, son, James Andrew McNeely, father, mother, and brothers, Harry Denis and Richard Charles Mc-Neely. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State St., Preston. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the stake center. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery. A memorial will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Mackay LDS Church. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
