Dora was born November 15, 1916, in Franklin, Idaho, daughter of Joseph Aaron and Sarah Jane Rideout Cherry. She moved to Draper, Utah at the age of five and lived most of her life there, until moving to St. George in 1995. She married Floyd C. Dansie on June 28, 1935 in Bluffdale, Utah and later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Floyd preceded her in death September 29, 1995. Dora loved the Gospel of Jesus Christ, serving in church callings such as, Primary teacher, counselor, president, visiting teacher all of her life and visiting teacher supervisor. She taught her children and grandchildren honesty, and integrity. Dora always had a positive attitude, loved homemaking, quilting, painting, crocheting, and doll making. Dora loved to travel, and to have lunch with her special loved ones. She will be lovingly remembered by her family.! Dora is survived by her children, Doren (Sharon) of Sandy, UT; Raymond (Sharon), Eileen Charles "Chick", (deceased) Allsop, of St. George, UT; Raldon (Viola) of Vernal, UT; Deon Eric of Palm Springs, CA; Blanche Sparks of Salt Lake City, UT; 33 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thurs. August 30, 2007, at 11 a.m., at the Sunset 7th LDS Branch, 415 N. Westridge Dr., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held Wednesday, from 6-7 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT, and Thursday, one hour prior to the services, at the chapel. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 31, 2007, at 1 p.m., at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, UT, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221.
