He married Lorna Swainston on June 3, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple. Perry and Lorna lived most of their married life in Dayton, where Perry was a railroad worker, a farmer, milk hauler, gas distributor and gas station owner. Perry was active in the community where he was on the Dayton City Council, the cemetery committee and the West Side school board. For many years he was also involved in organizing the Dayton City Fourth of July celebration. He worked in Young Men's program as the Explorer leader, Stake Sunday school presidency, counselor in the bishopric, bishop, high counselor and Logan Temple worker. Perry was an avid sports fan. Years ago he coached the Dayton baseball team, which was a member of the Cache Valley Baseball League. He loved to watch Jazz basketball games and BYU football, but most of all he loved West Side High School sports, where he either attended or listened to every game. He also loved the outdoors, where he spent a lot of time fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna, by his oldest daughter, Janet Nadine Johnson (sealed to Mike Johnson of Lago, Idaho). He is survived by three sons and four daughters, Dennis Perry (Marsha) Phillips of St. Anthony, Idaho, Christie Lynne (Mike) Thompson of Dayton, Twila Dawn (Ralph) Anderson of Lago, Idaho, Jeffrey Swainston (Judy) Phillips of Preston, Idaho, Debra Kay (Terry) Spackman of Richmond, Utah, Zan Scott (Nancy) Phillips of Orem, Utah, and Kimberlee (Lance) Geddes of Preston, Idaho. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna (LaMar) Carlson and Connie Bunn, both of Richmond, Utah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Dayton Ward Chapel, with Bishop Troy Moser conducting. Friends may call Friday, Aug. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church in Dayton. Interment will be in the Dayton Cemetery.
