She was born Dec. 18, 1944, in Preston, Idaho, to David Leroy and Enid Thomas Johnson. They started their family and ended up being blessed with seven children as well as hosting two foster children. Linda excelled in baking, canning, sewing, laughing and cake decorating - not to mention bread making, socializing and coupon clipping. She was a very devoted mother and upheld many church callings over the years, as well as running children from Point A to Point B. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, James; daughters, Tiffany (Ted) Weeks of Kamiah, Idaho, Debra (Daniel) Eiynck of Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Kaylyn (Boyd) Bradshaw of Draper, Utah, and Andrea (Ches) Burmester of Weston, Idaho; sons, Patrick J. (Tami) Gilbert of Fairview, Idaho, Curtis D. (Jennifer) Gilbert of Fairview, Idaho, and Derk B. (Sara) Gilbert of Richmond, Utah; 19 grandchildren; and two foster children, Victoria Maestas of New Mexico and Ryan Billy of Arizona. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Carol Gilbert; her siblings, Geraldine Lemmon of Centerville, Utah, Dale Johnson of Kaysville, Utah, Don Johnson of Washington, Utah, Bart Johnson of Provo, Utah, Myrna Olsen of Sandy, Utah, LaRae Williams of Bountiful, Utah, Jay Johnson of Springville, Utah, and Troy Johnson of Logan, Utah; and a stepbrother and stepsister, Ray (Reva) Bennett of Preston, Idaho, and Charlene (Horatio) Gregory of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Enid Johnson; her stepfather, Hyrum Bennett; and one grandson, Kage Derk Gilbert. Mamma Bear always loved sharing the individualism of each of her 19 special grandchildren who put a smile upon her face. We will always love and miss you Mamma Bear!!! Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the Fairview 1st Ward Chapel, 165 W. 4800 South, with Bishop Zan Bowles conducting. You could always find our mother doing good deeds and sharing herself with everyone she came in contact with. She was a remarkable friend and mother who brought a cheerful spirit into our always-busy home. So please, in lieu of flowers do a good deed for someone in need.
