Swann 10/01/02 Email this story to a friend PRESTON — Margarete Bauer Swann, 80, passed away Monday, September 30, 2002, at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Preston. She was born Dec. 30, 1921, in Litz, Austria, the daughter of Franz and Stephanie Winninger Bauer. She married Edward Reid Swann on April 12, 1955, in Litz, Austria. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Organization for 25 years, serving 14 years as treasurer. She volunteered with the Franklin County Fair for many years. In 1996, she was the “Queen of Lights” for the annual Festival of Lights celebration in Preston. She loved animals very much. She made friends easily and was always very nice to others. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Aldin and Velna Swann, Preston, Gwen Swann, Jerome, Idaho, Wayne (Vadna) Swann, Ivins, Utah; by nine nieces and nephews; and by a cousin, Otmar (Hildegard) Wetzlmayr, Vancouver, B.C., Canada. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reid Swann, and by two brothers. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Preston 10th Ward Chapel, 155 N. Second W., Preston, with Bishop G. Lee Parker conducting. Friends may call Thursday, Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
