Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Norma Myrle Thomas Wardell, passed away peacefully following her courageous battle for the life she loved. She was born on Sept. 24, 1926, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Albert LeRoy and Clara Ann Mach Thomas. She met and married her eternal sweetheart, Arthur Chapman Wardell, and they were married June 11, 1943, in Salt Lake City. They later solemnized their marriage for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. She enjoyed everything about life. She held various positions in the LDS Church, attended DUP meetings with her fellow sisters, crocheted baby booties, baked fabulous bread, grew a wonderful garden and raised the most cherished of all her crops — her family. She loved and honored her husband of 59 years, Art; cherished and inspired her children, Kathleen (Ed) Kubicek, Stansbury Park, Utah, Wesley (Debbie) Wardell, Clifton, Norma Wardell, Clifton, Royann Wardell (Jim), Preston, Idaho; and adored her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three brothers, Dean (Geri) Thomas, Salt Lake City; Marvin (Lorene) Thomas, West Valley City; Wynn Thomas, Salt Lake City; by one sister, Nola (Glenn) Palmer, Wash.; and many wonderful extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, by three brothers, Grant, Blair, and Glen, by a sister, Donna, and by a great-grandson, Clinton Brackin, Jr. Her legacy of service, devotion, and love will be forever cherished by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in the Clifton Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Neil Fuller conducting. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery
