He was born Oct 19, 1908, in Logan, UT, the son of Joseph E. Jr. and Annie Izatt Wilson. He moved from Logan to Lund, ID, with his family when he was 9 years old. He loved farm work and was a prominent farmer in Cache Valley. He married Reva Whittle on June 7, 1933, in the Logan LDS Temple. After a few depression years, they settled on a dairy farm in Fairview, ID, where they raised their five children with the good people who lived in the communities around Preston. They have maintained a home in Fairview as well as in St. George, UT, where they have spent 16 winters. Royal was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a two-year mission in the East Central States from 1928-30 and another mission with his wife in 1976 to the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission. He was a counselor in the Lund Idaho Ward bishopric and a counselor in the Idaho Stake Young Men's program. He served in the Sunday School as a counselor, as a gospel doctrine teacher, as High Priest group leader and teacher, and as a home teacher. He was a school trustee and dir! ector for Hi-Land Dairy of Murray, Utah, from 1966-75. He retired from the dairy business and then enjoyed wood crafting which he did for many years until his eyesight began to fail. He and his wife traveled extensively. They visited every state in the United States except Alaska and they visited several foreign countries. He is survived by his wife and his five children, Brent Guy (Marjorie) Wilson, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA, Randon Whittle (Gayle) Wilson, Salt Lake City, UT, Pamela (Lyle) Rich, Preston, ID, Kim Royal (Vicky) Wilson, Salt Lake City, UT, Michelle (Lynn) Hunt, St. George, UT; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and by two brothers, Luther (Ina) Wilson, Soda Springs, ID, Ted (Elna) Wilson, El Cajon, CA; and by a sister, Beth Lloyd, Ontario, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Joseph E. Wilson III and Alexander Wilson. Services will be Wed. Oct 23, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Fairview First Ward Chapel with Bishop Zan Bowles condu! cting. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E.
