He was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Treasureton, Idaho, the son of Thomas John "TJ" and Bessie Cole Reeder. He served and LDS mission to the Great Lakes Mission. He was in the Army for two years, and served with the Idaho National Guard. He married Naretta Turner on June 22, 1956, in the Logan, Utah temple. He was a high priest in the LDS Church, and had served in the Treasureton Ward bishopric. He was a trustee of the school board for two terms, and was also state chairman for two years. He worked as the Preston City fire chief and 18 years with the Idaho State Lands Fire Control. He was director of the Cottonwood Grazing Association and also director of the Treasureton Irrigation Co. He is survived by his wife, Naretta, of Treasureton; two sons and one daughter, Val T. Reeder, Preston, Barbara Reeder (Michael Rourke), Skokie, Illinois, Jay T. Reeder, Preston; seven grandchildren (Brett Val Reeder, Jason Reeder, Joey Reeder, Cole Reeder, Shannon Rourke, Erin Rourke, Breeze Reeder); five sisters and three brothers, Violet Weeks, Preston, Irma (Roger) Walker, Delta, Utah, John (Leora) Reeder, Tooele, Utah, Francis Butler, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Neal (Marie) Reeder, Malad, Idaho, Alice (Cliff) Johnson, Preston, Nedra Hodges, Woods Cross, Utah, and Vernan (Lorna) Reeder, Spanish Fork, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a grandson, Bryan John Reeder. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, Preston, with Bishop Sam Smith conducting. Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, and Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Treasureton Cemetery.
