He was born April 8, 1918, in Mink Creek, Idaho, the son of Oscar Lawrence and Martha Christina Petersen Wilde. He was one of the first men called to serve his country in World War II. He was stationed in the South Pacific as an artillery sergeant. He saw hard service. He served for over four years, receiving an honorable discharge on August 25, 1945. He married Susie Louisa Egbert on May 23, 1953, in the Logan, Utah temple. They made their home on the family farm in Mink Creek. They are the parents of two sons, David Cloyd (Judy) Wilde, Mink Creek, and Wayne Oscar (Sandy) Wilde, Huson, Montana. Susie died suddenly on July 15, 1986. Cloyd later moved off the farm to Preston. He met and married Leonore Jorgenson. She died on Oct. 26, 1999. He was always active in the community and the LDS Church, both in Mink Creek and Preston. He served as counselor in the bishopric, as a finance clerk, high priest group assistant, Scoutmaster, ward executive secretary, and home teacher. He was on the board of directors for the irrigation company. He is survived by his sons and five grandsons, Aaron, Christopher, Spencer, Sean, Tyler; by four sisters, June Austin, Salt Lake City, Utah, Betty Erramouspe, Blackfoot, Idaho, Dottie Casperson, Preston, Dixie Bennett, Pingree, Idaho; by a stepdaughter, Dorothy Roholt, St. George, Utah; a stepson, Bruce Jorgenson, Evanston, Wyoming; and by six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his two wives, his parents, two sisters, three brothers, and a sister-in-law. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at 1 p.m. in the Mink Creek Ward Chapel, with Bishop Jim Harrison conducting. Friends may call Sunday, Oct. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Mink Creek Cemetery.
