She was born on May 15, 1911 in Glendale, Franklin County, Idaho, the second child of Gottlob Wanner and Rebecca Hicks. On June 19, 1929, she married James Peter Tuveson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1982. She worked very hard in the early years of her marriage when her children were very young. She raised a large garden, growing raspberries and green beans to sell. She made her children"s clothing and made sure there was enough canned food to keep her family well fed. She did many of the farm and household chores. She was a member of five different wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints without moving from her home. She is currently a member of the Smithfield 11th Ward. She has been a teacher in the Primary and Sunday School and was secretary in both organizations. Her greatest love was Relief Society, where she was the quilt chairman for many years and a visiting teacher. After her family had grown, she devoted much of her time to quilt making and many homes have samples of her work. She loved to crochet and made many pillowcases and handkerchiefs with her hairpin lace. She entered her work in the Cache County Fair and brought home many blue and red ribbons. She had a fondness for automobile travel and made many trips across the United States and to Yellowstone Park camping. Ellen is survived by five children: Bessie Laurine Tuveson, Smithfield, UT; James Clifford and Donna Tuveson, Brigham City, UT; Virgil Lamontand Hettie Tuveson, Roy, UT; Kenneth LeRoy Tuveson, Smithfield, UT and Thomas Stephen and Ruth Tuveson, Grand Junction, CO; a brother, William Clifford Wanner, Pocatello, ID; a sister Bessie Marie Lish, Pocatello, ID; sister-in-law, Eva Marcell Wanner, Inkom, ID; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; a daughter, Ruby; her parents; three sisters who died in infancy; one brother, Samuel; one brother-in-law, Ronald and one sister-in-law, Helen. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 16, 2002 in the Smithfield LDS 11th Ward Chapel, 179 N. 100 E., with Bishop Alan Webb conducting. Friends and family may call Friday evening, March 15, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main Street, Smithfield and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
