He was born May 21, 1919 in Preston, Idaho to William Dudley White and Drucilla J. Halliday. He was raised and educated in Park City, Utah. He married Lucy Lewis on September 5, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Bill served honorably for five years in the U. S. Marine Corp, three of which where spent overseas. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. He worked for U.S. Steel for 29 years, retiring in February 1980. Bill is survived by his wife Lucy of Pleasant Grove and two daughters: Gwen Tattersal of Monroe, Louisiana and Donna Barnett of Payson; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include two brothers: Richard White of St. George and Thomas White of Riverton; two sisters: Edith Folker of Kearns and Darlene Findley of Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Lucille Graves, his parents and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 2002 at 11 a.m. in the Timpanogos Stake Center, 800 N. 100 West, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
