Surnames: Stanton, Dillard, Day, Payne, Farwell Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Eg.2ADE/561 Message Board Post: The Standard Examiner, Sun, Aug 25, 2002 MESQUITE, Nevada - A kind woman and gentle woman has died. Katheleen passed at 5:30 on the morning of Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, following a heart attack. Katheleen was born in Weston, Idaho on November 15, 1938, to Novis Estelle Payne and Leland Norman Day. She was the youngest of their four children - Norman, Elven and LaVelle. Katheleen married Richard Farwell in 1955, Ogden, Utah. Katheleen and Richard divorced a few years later, but remained good friends through their lives. They had one child, Garry Michael Dillard. Katheleen married again in 1958, Pocatello, Idaho, and had a daughter, Kathy Lynn Bright-Galyk, then later divorced. In 1960, Moralis, Mexico, Katheleen married Monte D. Dillard. They had two children, Monte D. Dillard, Jr. and LeAnna J. Dillard-Reardon. Monte later adopted Katheleen"s children from her previous marriages. Katheleen and Monte raised their family in the community of Westminster, California. In 1977, Katheleen and Monte moved their family to Hooper, Utah. Katheleen worked for Golden State Casting (GSC) as a quality supervisor, then later as an accountant. After a layoff at GSC in 1990, Katheleen worked for Morton/Autoliv as their R & D Accountant until her retirement in 1998. Monte died in 1996. Katheleen married Dennis E. Stanton in 1994, Clark County, Nevada. They lived in Roy, Utah until they both retired in 1998, and then moved to Mesquite, Nevada. While in Mesquite, Katheleen and Dennis took care of Katheleen"s mother at their home until Estelle"s death. Her hobbies were hands on: needlepoint, crocheting dressing for porcelain dolls, sewing and interior decoration. Katheleen also enjoyed oil painting. While there are only a few of her paintings around, they are enjoyed by many. Katheleen accomplished many things in life: raised four children, had a successful career, a fulfilling artistic life, and took great care of family members in need - all the while staying true to herself with love, kindness and compassion. Her husband Dennis, brothers, Norman, Elven, and LaVelle, sons, Garry and Monte, daughters, Kathy and LeAnna, survive Katheleen. She is also survived by granddaughters, Janeice, Jodi, Jessica, Jill, Jackie, Kara, Lacy, Danelle, and grandsons, Christopher, Andrew, Zac, Jackson, Brandon, and great-grandsons, Cori, Jeremy and Justin. Also surviving are her stepchildren, Richard and Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle (1913-2000) and Leland (1906-1969); her stepfather, Leonard (1919-1996), husband Richard (1935-1985); and husband Monte (1933-1996). Katheleen will be missed by countless people who were forever charmed by the gentle, easygoing, talented person. The family is planning a memorial and celebration of Katheleen"s life for friends and family to be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at Lindquist"s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist"s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
