She was born July 2, 1911, in Preston, Idaho, to James Eddie Alexander Evans and Minnie Alice Warrick Evans. She was the fifth child of nine. She had five brothers and three sisters. Ruby grew up in Preston where she attended school and met her eternal sweetheart, Horace, of 71 years. They were married Aug. 11, 1930, in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on April 10, 1961. They lived on the family farm in Franklin, Idaho, where they raised three sons and a daughter. They moved to Othello in 1974. Ruby enjoyed caring for her family, keeping a clean house, growing beautiful flowers and a luscious garden. She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a member of the Othello 3rd Ward at the time of her death. Her favorite time was going to dances on Saturday night with Horace. Ruby was proceeded in death by her husband Horace, one sister and four brothers. Survivors include three sons, Robert and wife, Hennrietta Haworth of Othello, Wash.; daughter, Alice and husband, John Parker of Challis, Idaho; sisters, Ruth Goff and Valetta Petterborg of St. George; one brother, Fred Evans of Phoenix, Ariz.; 20 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2002, at 1 p.m. In Othello, Wash. Another funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 20, at noon in the Franklin LDS Stake Center in Franklin, with visitation at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery following the service. Arrangements entrusted to Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello and Webb Funeral Home of Preston.
