The Idaho State Journal 08-03-2001 WESTON — E. Keith Buttars, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2001, while doing what he loved, working on his farm. He was born August 18, 1929, in Clarkston, Utah, to Earl Samuel Buttars and Gladys Williams. He married Georgia Lannan in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple July 12, 1949. He is survived by his wife, Georgia, one daughter, Vicki Stevenson (Glen), sons, Kurtis (JaNeil), all of Weston, Idaho, Mark (Lisa), West Jordan, Utah, Steve (Lynette), Weston, Idaho, Ryan (Janis), Clifton, Idaho; one sister, Bonnie Reeder, Hyde Park, Utah; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Blaine and Sammy, and one sister, Shirley. Keith his life farming in Weston, Idaho. He served his community 16 years on the town council, Farmers Grain board of directors in Weston and Ogden, Utah, of which he also served as vice president; he was also on the Twin Lakes Canal board. He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, and served as Scoutmaster, elder's quorum secretary and ward clerk, home teacher and YM presidency. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. At the time of his death he was a high priest in the Weston First Ward. Keith was a hard-working farmer who was respected and loved by his family and friends. He loved to spend his time away from the farm camping, fishing, short getaways to his cabin in Wyoming and wintering in Salome, Arizona. Keith will be missed by his family. He was a great teacher and educator in the ways of life. He taught them all they know. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2001, at the Weston LDS Chapel, Weston, Idaho, with Bishop Glade Schvaneveldt conducting. Friends and family may call tonight, Friday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Weston, Idaho.
