She was born Oct. 15, 1910 in Moreland, Idaho a daughter to David and Ida Weiermann Wheeler. She attended school in Idaho. She married LaVon Buckley Chatterton in Moreland on Feb. 12, 1929. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on Feb. 12, 1930. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many auxiliaries in her earlier years. She was a homemaker and loving mother. She had worked at JC Pennys for several years. He and her husband resided in the Island area of Logan since 1943, raising their three children, Melbadean, Clyde and Carla. After LaVon passed away in 1982 she bought a motor home, driving it herself traveling the western states along with her daughter and son-in-law. After the death of her daughter she settled in Overton, Nev., where she meet and married Emerson Leavitt on her 80th birthday. Her last few months were spent in Logan at her sons home surrounded by her daughters and sons families enjoying her. She is survived by a son, Clyde and Sharlene Chatterton, Logan; a daughter, Carla and Paul Schulz, Paradise; son-in-law, David Croft, Overton, Nev., two brothers, Merle Wheeler, Jerome, Idaho; Bill Wheeler, Moreland, Idaho; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lavon, a daughter, Melbadean Daniels Croft, infant son, granddaughter, Genet Chatterton Lindley. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. in the Franklin, Franklin, Idaho Cemetery. A family viewing will be held Tuesday at 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Allen-Hall Mortuary, Logan, Utah.
