Surnames: Turner, Mockli Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Eg.2ADE/319 Message Board Post: The Logan Herald Journal 09-18-2001 Selma Mockli Turner, 87, was born March 20, 1914, in Preston, Franklin, Idaho, to Henrich (Henry) and Frieda (Kristen) Mockli. Selma returned back to her Heavenly Father on Sept. 16, 2001, surrounded by her loving family. She was the eighth child in a family of 15 children. She had seven brothers and seven sisters. She married William DeVerl Turner on March 6, 1947, in the Salt Lake Temple by President Spencer W. Kimball, who was an apostle. They eventually settled in Logan and were blessed with three wonderful children, William Dee (DeAnn) Turner of Hyde Park, Utah, Kristen (Dean) Buhler of Hyde Park, Utah, and Janette (Rex) Case of Sandy, Utah. She had 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. Selma gave selflessly to all her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her. Selma loved and lived the gospel. She served in many positions in the church. She served a mission in the eastern states, in which New York was the headquarters. Later in life, she served a mission at the Deseret Industries in Logan, Utah. Selma was employed at Keith O’Brien in Logan, where she met many of her friends. Family was very important to Selma. She was proud of the many accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She loved working in her yard, tending her flowers and visiting the sick. Selma was preceded in death by her husband, DeVerl; brothers, Les, Clyde, Joe, Frank, Walt and Chris; and sisters Frieda, Mena and Emma. She is survived by her sisters, Ruby Pond, Ida (Stan) Jorgensen, Bertha Anderson and Marie Oliverson; and one brother, Leo (Ondelyn) Mockli. Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Allen-Hall Mortuary with Bishop Mark Brenchley presiding. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Allen-Hall Mortuary and one hour prior to the funeral on Sept. 19, 2001. Internment will be at the Preston Idaho Cemetery.
