Surnames: Ricks, Jensen, Muir Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Eg.2ADE/317 Message Board Post: The Logan Herald Journal 09-07-2001 Jeremy Lon Ricks, 25, of Provo, Utah, and formerly of Rexburg, Idaho, and Newdale, Idaho, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, in Blackfoot, Idaho, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Jan. 19, 1976 in Preston, Franklin, Idaho, to Beverly Jensen Ricks and Lon Norman Ricks. Jeremy attended schools in Preston, Monument, Colo., and graduated from Sugar Salem High School, Ricks College and Brigham Young University, earing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at BYU this summer. Jeremy married Malinda Muir on June 6, 1998, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions in the church, including a two-year mission in Raleigh, N.C., He was active in scouting and earned the rank of Eagle. Jeremy enjoyed studying mathematics and, as a tutor, he had a special ability to explain it to others. He enjoyed camping, skiing and being with his family. The love of his life was his wife, Malinda, and their daughter, Jeralin. He is survived by his wife, Malinda Muir Ricks, and daughter Jeralin Laree Ricks, Provo; his parents, Lon and Beverly Ricks of Newdale; brothers and sisters, Matthew Earl (Suzie) Ricks of North Salt Lake City, Utah, Anthony Norman (Nicole) Ricks of Rexburg, Rebecca Ricks (Jeff Cramer of Moscow, Idaho, Ryndon Allen Ricks, Virgil Andreas Ricks, Elly Elizabeth Ricks and Corey Taylor Ricks, all of Newdale; grandparents, Earl and MaryLou Jensen of Preston, and Norman and Betty Ricks of Preston; and a great-grandmother, Irene Baxter of Ogden, Utah. He is preceded in death by a grandmother, Laree Baxter Ricks. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at the Sugar City Stake Center with Bishop Lon Ricks of the Newdale ward officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to services. Interment will be in the Rexburg Idaho Cemetery.
