She was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Brigham City, Utah, to Robert and Annie Pearson Lamont. She married Lavern L. Rogers on Nov. 6, 1970, in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on Sept. 6, 1983. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a primary teacher for many years and a Cub Scout leader. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW. She always enjoyed gardening and the house was always full of flowers. She loved cats and after her children were gone, they became her children until she wasn't able to take care of them any longer. She is survived by her husband, Vern of Preston; her children, Barbara Sherrod of Roy, Utah, and Donna (Roger) Gray of West Haven, Utah; step-children, Lavern (Becky) Rogers of Fairview, Idaho, Vernette (Edward) Sidwell of Preston, Idaho, and George Rogers; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leer Lamont of Ogden, Utah; and a sister, Helen Gleed of Malad, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Cox; a grandson, Jonathon Sidwell; a step-son, Timmy Rogers; two sisters, Elizabeth Dale and Jean Bommer; and a brother, Robert Lamont Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, in the Preston 10th Ward chapel, 155 N. 200 West in Preston with Bishop Mike Andrus conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida in Preston, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
