Author: AMHhenley Surnames: Sears, Murray, Winward Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.idaho.counties.franklin/2162/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Twin Falls Times-News, 10/10/07 Paul Sears, 72, of Wendell, entered his heavenly father's presence Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, following a short battle with Leukemia. Paul was born May 23, 1935, to Lester Parley and Mary (Murray) Sears at Preston, Idaho. He was the oldest of five children. He graduated from West Side High School in Dayton, Idaho, in 1953. He attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, for a year before marrying Raelene Winward on Nov. 10, 1954, in the Logan Temple. Together they worked several jobs in the Cache Valley area while starting their family. They bought a farm in Clifton, Idaho, which they worked with their family until 1976, which they sold to buy a ranch in Bliss, Idaho. After selling the ranch in Bliss, Paul worked for the Idaho Transportation Department until he retired from full-time work in 2005. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many different positions. Paul is survived by Raelene Sears of Wendell, his wife of 53 years; his mother, Mary Sears of Preston; three brothers, Clark (Norma Jeanne) Sears of Boise, Doyle (Wendy) Sears of Preston and Calvin (Cheryl) Sears of Inkom; one sister, Raedene (Gordon) McCombs of West Valley City, Utah; four daughters, Karen (Bill) Collins of Boise, Pauline (Rich) Montes of Caldwell, and Louise (Vince) Miller and Mary Ellizabeth (Deon) Fincher, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; five sons, Jeff, Steve (Hailey) and Brian (Merrilee) Sears, all of Wendell, Murray (Lisa) Sears of Clifton and Gordon (Myra) Sears of Washington, Utah; 28 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Parley Sears; one son, Reed William Sears; a daughter, Charlene Sears; and a daughter-in-law, Margo (Jeff) Sears. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the LDS Church in Wendell. A viewing for friends and family will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at the Demaray Funeral Service, Wendell Chapel, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, Idaho, at approximately 4 p.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to may donate to the Margo Sears Scholarship fund at the U.S. Bank in Wendell. .
