Reese Nielsen, 77, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at the home of his daughter in South Ogden. He was born March 12, 1924 in Weston, Idaho, the son of Lavere Parry and Elverta Westerberg Nielsen. On March 19, 1943, Reese married Eva Jeanette Smith in Preston, Idaho. Eva died December 10, 1991. He married Janice Korn on December 16, 1993 in South Ogden. He was reared and educated in Weston, Idaho moving to Utah in 1951 where he resided until his death. Reese was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He had worked at Defense Depot Ogden, Hertz Car Rental, as a farmer, for Ogden City Police Department, a driver for Z.C.M.I. and a service station owner. Reese was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge #4018. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Janice, of Ogden; two sons and four daughters, Reese K. (Tammy) Nielsen, North Salt Lake; Parry Nielsen, Ogden; Linda (Ed) Seip, Tujunga, Calif.; Jody (Gene) Poen, South Ogden; Susy Nielsen, Ogden; Dolores (Greg) Warg, Roy; seven step-children, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Reese is also survived by four sisters, Eloise LaLande, Louisiana; Anna Webster, Utah; LaVoyle Bainbridge, California; Lucille Wickburg, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and one brother, Charles. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist"s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Saturday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist"s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
