Hollingsworth, 94, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2001, at the Franklin County Nursing Home in Preston, Idaho. She was born Dec. 30, 1906, in Preston, the daughter of Frank Thomas and Emma Susan Bennett Merrill. She married Austin Earl Hollingsworth Aug. 27, 1924, in the Salt Lake Temple. He died Feb. 2, 1991. Blanche was active in civic and church callings all of her life. She served as Relief Society president and served and taught in all the auxiliaries. She served a mission with her husband in the Maine area. She was secretary of the Preston Chamber of Commerce, secretary for the Draft Board during World War II, served as a civil defense spotter during that time. She wrote a book, was published in the Ensign, Era and Relief Society magazines as well as commercial publications. She is survived by four children and spouses, Phyllis (keith) Bergquist, Roosevelt, Utah, Howard (Wyla) Hollingsworth, North Las Vegas, Nev., Paul M. (Kathleen) Hollingsworth, Provo, Utah, and Renee (William) Elder, Seattle, Wash., 31 grandchildren, 112 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Afton McCarrel, St. Anthony, Idaho, and Beth Kirwin, Provo, Utah. She is preceded in death by one grandchild and four brothers. Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Preston 7th Ward, 155 N. 2nd West with Bishop Thane Goodrich conducting. Friends may call at Webb Funeral Home Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
