She was under the care of Aspen Hospice. She was born July 8, 1921, at Franklin, Idaho, to Edgar Collins and Elda Wilkinson Collins. She grew up and attended schools in the area. On April 15, 1938, she married Max G. Randall in Ogden, Utah. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1986. On May 23, 1989, she married Claude L. Smith in Elko, Nevada. She was a mother and homemaker, and worked as an operator for Mountain Bell Telephone Company, from which she retired. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and Lady Elks. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jean enjoyed all music, ballroom dancing, square dancing and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Claude Smith, Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughter, Kayren McCarty, Lacey, Wash.; sister, Betty Zahm, Pocatello, Idaho; half-brother, Eddy Collins, St. George, Utah; two half-sisters, Elaine Daines, Ogden, Utah, Polly McDade, Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, and her son, Clair C. Randall. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, February 17, 2007, at Ammon Sixth Ward (2150 Avocet), with Bishop D. Randall Hurley officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge), and from 11 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park.
