He was born Jan. 22, 1925, to Fred and Ruth Gamble Nuffer. He married his one and only true love, Elaine Waddoups, on Jan. 14, 1944, in Dayton, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. One of his greatest joys in life was farming. He also enjoyed being an entrepreneur and salesman - from soap to diamonds. He was an avid outdoorsman, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, hunting, boating, waterskiing, and skiing in his younger days. Leon had a strong work ethic. He passed this legacy to all of his children and grandchildren. His silent generosity and concern for all without recognition or return touched many lives. Dad, give Mom a big hug from all of us. We love you and we will miss you. He is survived by five daughters and one son, Vicki (Larry) Edgar of Rupert, Idaho, Annie (Larry) Lopez of Sandy, Utah, Linda Laws of Ogden, Utah, Deon Nuffer of Logan, Utah, Valerie (Ed) Barson of Clarkston, Utah, and Fred (Becky) Nuffer of Tucson, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice (Roland) Anderson of Richmond, Utah. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; a daughter, Jane; his parents; a brother, Dallin Nuffer; and a granddaughter, Amy. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday also at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Dayton Cemetery.
