She was born June 16, 1914 in Preston, ID to Henry and Amelia Walker Lucherini. She married her eternal companion, Leonard Rex Pitkin, on June 23, 1936 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on October 7, 2001. Lucille lived in Salt Lake City all of her married life until she moved to Dallas five years ago to live with her daughter Joyce. She was an active member of the LDS Church and particularly enjoyed her many years of working in Primary and Relief Society sharing her talents at the piano and organ. Her love of music lives on in her posterity. She performed a lifetime of loving service to her family and to those she knew. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Plano, TX. 9th Ward. Survivors: Children: Gordon (Lynne) Pitkin of West Jordan, UT; Carol (Jim) Long of Justin, TX; Linda (Bill)! Hargis of West Jordan, UT; Joyce Pitkin of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clyde, her parents, four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT. Viewing will be held prior to the service at the same location beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Cemetery. The family gratefully acknowledges the kind and loving care provided by Harris Hospice and Evergreen Group Home over the past few weeks. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lucille's name to Moran Eye Center, 65 Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84112 to assist in continued research for a cure for macular degeneration.
