He was born March 9, 1916, in Caldwell, Idaho, to James Delgin and Nora Moore Seeley. He married Florence May Dolan on Sept. 6, 1941, in Burley, Idaho. He was raised in Albion, Idaho, where he learned the value of hard work by working on many area farms. After graduating from high school, he moved to Boise, Idaho, where he met and married Florence Dolan. They then moved to Monterey, Calif., where he served in the United States Army as a mechanic during World War II. After completing his military service, they moved to Boise where he worked for Gate City Steel as a mechanic. In 1953, they moved to Parma, Idaho, where they raised four children and operated a small dairy farm. In 1977 they sold the farm and retired to Payette, Idaho. In 1980 they sold their home in Payette and moved to Preston, Idaho, to be closer to family. James enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, repairing cars and woodworking. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his daughter, Helen S. Cooley of Newton, Utah; two sons, Harold Wayne (Heather) Seeley of Taylorsville, Utah; Ralph Edward Seeley of Grand View, Idaho; and by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; his son, Walter James Seeley; two sisters, Hattie Cheney and Nellie Davis; a brother, Earl Seeley' and by a son-in-law, Richard G. Cooley. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st S., Preston, with President Brice Checketts of the Legacy Second Branch conducting. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery.
