She was born in Richmond, Utah on July 8, 1921, to William G. and Annie Hansen Wheeler. She was raised in Lewiston, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School. She married M. Reed Cunningham on Aug. 6, 1942, and they were sealed together for eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on Nov. 6, 1956. Winona and Reed lived in Preston, Idaho for a few years before moving to Smithfield where she lived until moving to Logan in January of 1976. Winona was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church auxiliaries, holding many leadership roles. Following the death of her husband Winona worked for Anderson Lumber in Logan for many years. Winona enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work and quilting. Winona loved her family dearly and made many beautiful pieces of handwork to leave as a memory of her for her family to enjoy. Winona is survived by her children, Faye (Floyd) Guymon, West Jordan, Utah; Dean (Cindy) Cunningham, Honeyville, Utah; and Clare (Karen) Cunningham, Desert Hills, Ariz., 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters, Donna Poppleton; Irene Cole; Gwen Swan; Marva Reese, brother, Carl Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed, daughter-in-law, Lisa, one sister and one brother. The family would like to thank Legacy House and Alpine Hospice for their loving care. Also thank you to Dr. Hampton, Dr. Ben-Jacob and her many loving friends for their faithful and tender loving care. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Foothill 1st Ward Chapel, 1450 East 1500 North, Logan. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7:30 on Thursday evening at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. in Logan and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Friday prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery next to her beloved and eternal companion Reed. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net.
