He was born in Clifton, Idaho, Feb. 16, 1909, to Seth V. and Inez Howell Henderson. He married Blanche Hope April 27, 1932, in Logan, Utah, and the marriage was solemnized later in the Logan LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many positions, including that of bishop, high priest, group leader and bishopric member. He was an avid sports enthusiast. In his younger days he played baseball and basketball. In later years he liked to play golf. He served on the city council 40 years. He was president and watermaster of the Clifton Irrigation Co. for 27 years. He is survived by his wife, Blanche, and two sons, Lyle (Carol) of Clifton and DeMar (Janet) Caldwell, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one sister, Esther Merrill of Ogden, Utah. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Howell Ware, and two brothers, Herman and Stanley. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, July 18, 2000, at the Clifton Second Ward Chapel with Bishop Neil Fuller conducting. Friends and family may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m on Monday, July 17, at the Webb Funeral Home and from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Clifton Cemetery.
