Moore, 82, Chubbuck, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007, peacefully at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello, Idaho. G e r - ald was born in Preston, Idaho, on October 23, 1924, the son of the late Horatio and Ruby (Trullinger) Moore. After Gerald graduated from Pocatello High School in 1942. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1945. He then attended Idaho Sate University's Diesel School in 1949. Gerald married Juanita Gabrielson July 3, 1949. He worked as a mechanic for Garrett Freightlines for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Gerald had a great love for the outdoors and his horse, Pal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Gerald is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Jim) Shilton of Boise, and Barbara (Neal) Hite of Pocatello; and a son, Roger Moore of Eagle Creek, Oregon. He is also survived by two brothers, Forrest and Eugene, and a sister, Patricia, from Pocatello; grandchildren, Colin, Ben, Nick, Sherry, Levi, Whitney; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kelsey. Gerald was preceded in death by son, Carl Moore, and his wife, Juanita, as well as two brothers and one sister. Friends are invited to visit with the family today, Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at 9 a.m. at Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave. Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Janie Gebhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, where the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard will offer military graveside rites.
