She was born October 21, 1913, to Joseph Parlan and Grace Leavitt Carter in Joseph, Utah. She married Floyd Wilford Dorius on June 28, 1935, in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. They were the parents of eight children. She graduated from Snow College with a teaching certificate, and Laura faithfully served in many church and civic responsibilities in Malad, Idaho, Hailey, Idaho, and Lewiston, Utah. Laura and Floyd served a mission to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She loved gardening, oil painting, and poetry. Laura is survived by her children, Stanley (Barbara) Dorius, Larry (Sherrill) Dorius, Erma (Reese) Naegle, David (Sherri) Dorius; 25 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Dorius; and a sister, Anna Hooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd, four sons, Mark, Rex, Robert, and Parlan Dorius, brothers, Lyman, Garth and James, and sisters, Mary Fry, Maureen O'bray, and Florence Bredegard also preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the Cornish/Trenton LDS Chapel, 1200 North 400 West (Hwy. 23) in Trenton, Utah, with Bishop Conrad Naegle conducting. Friends may call Friday, Sept. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, in Preston, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
