Our dad was born March 21, 1945 in Preston, Idaho to his wonderful parents, Glenn and Gwen Petterborg Call. Dad grew up in Preston, where he graduated from high school. He attended Idaho State University; then later married Linda Ann Smedley August 13, 1964, in the Logan Temple. They have three children together. They were later divorced. He spent the last 10 years of his life with his sweetheart, Linda Wyatt "L.W." Our dad started his career as a carpenter following in his father's footsteps. Dad built many beautiful homes in Preston along with LDS churches in Idaho, Utah, and California. Because of his expertise, work ethic and passion for building it eventually led into a fulfilling career as a commercial project manager. In 2005, he was awarded "Contractor of the Year" by Sandy City. O! ur dad's true love was his family. He never missed a birthday, holiday, or any other special event that included his family. He was always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave. No matter if you were family or not, you always got a big hug and smile from him. Dad loved being in the outdoors- fishing, camping, river rafting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and skiing. But Dad had an unbelievable passion for fishing, not the "catching" but just the "fishing." One of the things that gave our dad great pride was snowcross racing with his son, Brian (Willy). He never missed a race whether it was in Vermont, Canada, or Washington. He was always there supporting Brian as his mechanic and #1 fan. Many great memories and friendships were made throughout the many years of racing. He is survived by his sweetheart, Linda Wyatt, of Logan, Utah; three children, Molly (Travis) Baxter of Nibley, Utah, Krissy (Jason) Parker of Farr West, Utah, Brian "Willy" (Cyrille) Call of Idaho F! alls, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Bailey, Josh, Connor, Braxton, Kenne dy, Berkley, and Brager; two sisters and two brothers, Beverly (Alvaro) Jones, Steve (Kristal) Call, Peggy (Kyle) Carpenter, and Jeff Call, all of Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2007, 11 a.m. in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, Preston. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, and Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. We love you, we will always miss you, and we will all remember that it is 4 o'clock somewhere. Published in the Deseret News on 9/9/2007.
