Id Obits Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Id/FranklinObits/278 Surname: Marler, Baird, Helmandollar ------------------------- The Logan Herald Journal 02-08-2001 Evelyn Baird Marler 83, our sweet loving mother, died, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 in the Logan Regional Hospital after she wonderfully fulfilled her calling upon this earth as wife and devoted companion, mother and loyal friend. Evelyn was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Fairview, Idaho, the daughter of Warren Baird and Cora E. Helmandollar Baird. Evelyn grew up in Fairview and attended Preston High School, Preston, Idaho. She moved to Ogden, Utah, and worked as a domestic care provider until she married. Evelyn married Reed Taylor Marler on Nov. 27, 1936, in Farmington, Utah, which was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Evelyn and Reed later moved to the Los Angeles area where her husband was employed in the aircraft industry until1 942. They returned to Ogden where Reed was employed at Hill Air Force Base. In 1945 Reed and Evelyn relocated to Logan where they raised their family. As her family grew older Evelyn established a career in the retail industry. Evelyn was an active member of the LDS Church where she held numerous positions and callings in the MIA, Relief Society, dance director, and as a LDS temple worker for numerous years. Evelyn is survived by two sons and two daughters, A. Larry and VeAnn Marler, Phoenix, Ariz., Judy and Dallas Perry, Logan, Bruce Reed and Beverly Marler, Pasadena, Md., Tauna and Randal Ralphs, Ferron, Utah; one brother, Dorman Baird, Ogden; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Allen-Hall Mortuary under the direction of Bishop Karl Reid. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the services on Monday. Interment will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery. We will truly miss our loving mother and eternal friend.
