She was born April 27, 1922, in Bennion, Utah, to Walter E. and Ruby Palmer Nichols. She married Mervin C. Sharp on December 15, 1948, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They had 51 wonderful years as husband and wife. Mary was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many leadership and teaching positions. She and Mervin served eight years as officiators in the Logan Temple and made many lifelong friendships. Her family was her life, and she taught them correct principles. She is survived by her husband, Mervin C. Sharp, Preston, and eight children, Alene (David) Parrish, Preston; Gayle (Richard) Thompson, Clarkston, Utah; Lynda (Marvin) Sorensen, Preston; Marie (Jerry) Larsen. Preston; Kevin N. (Mary Sue) Sharp, Preston; Brenda (Alan) Freestone, Monticello, Utah; M. Wayne (Debra) Sharp, Heber City, Utah; and Karla (Craig) Dutson, Oak City, Utah; a sister, Lois Nichols, Bennion, Utah; 37 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who all have fond memories of her. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, three brothers, five sisters and one grandson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2001, at 12 noon in the 3rd, 7th, 10th Ward, 155 North 200 West, Preston, with Bishop Byron Kelley conducting. Friends and family may call at the Webb Funeral Home, 109 East Oneida, Preston, on Monday, February 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the church from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Burial will be in the Preston City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the many nurses and doctors at the Logan Nursing and Rehab Center for all the loving care and attention they gave Mom for the last two years. We all love you, Mom, and will miss you.
