She was born Jan. 31, 1910 in Nephi, Utah. The daughter of George Samuel and Lula Leola Clayton Winn. She was raised in Preston, ID. She married Edgar Leroy Morgan in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She gave birth to three sons, Jerald G., Edgar E., and Ezra T. Morgan. Her husband Edgar passed away in 1936, she then married Ervon L. Cole, and gave birth to three more sons, Marvin E., David L., and Craig W. Cole. They lived in Preston until 1952, when they moved to Ogden, Utah where she spent the rest of her life. Ervon passed away in 1971. She married Claude Simons, he passed away. She then married Ted Kilts who also passed away. Ethel was an active member of the LDS Church and had a strong testimony of the gospel. During her life she held about every position possible in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School. She taught her first Sunday School class at the age of 14. She has been a member of the Stake Board Presidency in several stakes. She was active in temple work and was a temple worker for several years. She completed an LDS Mission in Texas. Her life's hobby was genealogy, she was noted for her genealogical and life history work on her ancestral lines. She worked many years for Utah Tailoring Mills, and also the Defense Depot. She enjoyed traveling and has traveled to many foreign countries. She has always been a very positive person, looking for only the best in people. Never making a derogatory statement about anyone. She always worried more about the other people than herself. She was loved, admired and respected by everyone. She was a pillar of strength to her family. She was what all people strive to be. She will be dearly missed by all. She is survived by three sisters, and one brother, Grace Corbridge, Seattle, WA; Larue Allred, Ogden; Opal (Wally) Manwill, St. George; Dale (Jeanette) Winn, Hooper; four sons, Jerald G. (Shirley) Morgan, Woburn, MA; Marvin E. (Shirley) Cole, Ogden; David L. (Marian) Cole, Rochester, NY; Craig W. Cole, Seattle, WA; 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Preston City Cemetery.
