She was born Aug. 4, 1911, in Nephi, Utah, the daughter of James Earl and Mary ElleNora Jacobsen Reid. She married Elden Speirs Tanner on Aug. 11, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had a lifelong interest in reading and was a member of the Literary Club. She served in many positions in the LDS Church including Sunday School, Primary, as Relief Society President (twice), and she was also involved in genealogy and temple work. She was a missionary at the Logan Genealogy Library every Monday for 20 years. She was also involved with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers serving as first-Vice for the Lopine Camp. She also was a member of the PTA where she served as president of the Jefferson PTA. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Elden S. Tanner, Preston, Idaho; three daughters and two sons, Kathryn T. (Allen) Martin, Pocatello, Idaho, Neil Reid (Mary Jo) Tanner, Centerville, Utah, Marjorie T. (Norman) Nelson, Seattle, Wash., Gail T. (Clyde) Heiner, Farmington, Utah, and Earl Reid (Linda) Tanner, West Jordan, Utah; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and by a sister-in-law, Lee Reid, Orem, Utah. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, James Earl Reid, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Preston North Stake Center, 310 N. State, with Bishop Steven Fuller conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Webb Funeral Home and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the stake center. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
