After a 14-year battle with diabetes, she is now reunited with her Heavenly Father and loved ones. She was born on December 9, 1917 in Oxford, Idaho, a daughter of Alma L. Johnson and Ida Grace Fisher. Verla lived most of her early life in Preston, Idaho, moving to Ogden in 1943. On September 28, 1945 she married Robert J. Price, her best friend and sweetheart. Their marriage was solemnized in the Ogden Temple. Surviving are her husband of 56 years and children, Georgia (Jimmy) Graham of St. George; Stan (Jo) Heath of Minneapolis, MN; Robert (Sandra) Price of Marriott; and Gary Price of Ogden; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Verla is also survived by a sister, Sybil Ellis; and a brother, Ron Johnson. She was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Heath; her parents; two brothers, Alma and Earl Johnson; and a sister, Vivian Baddley. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and the power of prayer, which helped sustain her through the last years of ill health. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., where friends and family may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. Send condolences to family at www.myers-mortuary.com
