Haworth was born in Franklin, Idaho, on April 10, 1910 to Thomas Henry and Blenda (Johnson) Haworth. He lived in Othello for 27 years. Horace grew up on the family farm in Franklin, Idaho, which was homesteaded by his grandfather in 1861. He married Ruby Alice Evans on Aug. 11, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They farmed and raised horses, cows and chickens until 1974. They moved to Othello, Wash., at that time and worked for Umapine Chemical Company until he retired in 1980. Horace loved to hunt and travel. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball and also enjoyed when they performed in music and other talents. He especially loved spending time with his wife. He was a kind and loving man and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Ruby; three sons, Robert and wife Henriette Haworth, Franklin, Idaho, David and wife Doris Haworth, Ogden, Utah, Thomas and wife Debbie Haworth, Othello, Wash.; one daughter, Alice and husband John Parker, Challis, Idaho; one sister, Elna Robins, Burley, Idaho; 20 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, one sister and two granddaughters preceded him in death. Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Stevens Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held in Othello on Monday at 11 a.m. at the 7th Avenue Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Art Dorval officiating. Additional funeral services will be Thursday at noon in the Franklin Stake Center. The family will receive friends at Webb Funeral Home Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m., and at the stake center Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
