Aliene was born in Lewiston, Utah, on July 31, 1920, to Clarence Ellis and Zelnora Glover Layne. She grew up in Lewiston, where she attended schools and graduated from North Cache High School. She married Fred Andrew Jensen on June 18, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Fred and Aliene made their home in Mountain Home, Utah, where they lived and worked on the farm their entire lives and enjoyed their family and friends. She served in numerous church positions including the Relief Society, Young Women and Primary. After losing her husband in 1999, Aliene found it difficult to live alone and moved to the Beehive House in Logan, Utah. She later moved to The Golden Living Center in Orem to be closer to her children. She is survived by a son, Sidney (Cynthia) Layne, Midway, Utah; and two daughters, Kathryn (Craig) Anderson, Salt Lake City; and Diane (Hugh, deceased) Wilson, Payson, Utah; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond Layne. Her husband Fred and two sons, Craig Fred and Tracy Charles, three brothers and one sister preceded her in death. Services will be held on at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2002, in the Cove Chapel. Friends and family may call at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. the day of the funeral. Interment will be in the Franklin City Cemetery
