She was born February 15, 1908, in Logan, Utah, a daughter of Joseph Christensen and Alice Girdlestone Smith Jenson. She was raised in Arbon Valley, with her brothers. Ida attended school in Arbon, Malad, Preston and Salt Lake City, Utah. As a young woman she played the piano in the Jenson Dance Band. In 1940, she moved to San Francisco, and resided there until 1987, when she moved to Pocatello. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Lucille Jenson of Nampa, Idaho, and several nieces and nephews including Susie Adele Mallavia and Marilyn (Dean) Westenskow, both of Pocatello, Joe C. (Ann) Jenson of Arbon, Rodney H. (Cindy) Jenson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tom V. Jenson of Malad, Alice Marie (Mont) Thomas of Malad, Valoree (Ken) Estep of Arbon, Dennis (Linda) Jenson of Lewiston, Idaho, Sandra (Kenneth) Calhoun of Emmett, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, one sister and one half-sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2002, at 11 a.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Logan, Utah City Cemetery.
